In the beginning . . . Adam walked with dinosaurs
By James Langton in New York
(Filed: 02/01/2005)

With its towering dinosaurs and a model of the Grand
Canyon, America's newest tourist attraction might look
like the ideal destination for fans of
the film Jurassic Park.

The new multi-million-dollar Museum of Creation, which
will open this spring in Kentucky, will, however, be
aimed not at film buffs, but at the growing ranks of
fundamentalist Christians in the United States.

It aims to promote the view that man was created in
his present shape by God, as the Bible states, rather
than by a Darwinian process of evolution,
as scientists insist.
The museum, which has cost a mighty $25 million (£13
million) will be the world's first significant natural
history collection devoted to creationist
theory. It has been set up by Ken Ham, an Australian
evangelist, who runs Answers in Genesis, one of
America's most prominent creationist
organizations. He said that his aim was to use
tourism, and the theme park's striking exhibits, to
convert more people to the view that the world and its
creatures, including dinosaurs, were created by God
6,000 years ago.

"Market research companies hired by the museum are
predicting at least 300,000 visitors in the first
year, who will pay $10 (£5.80) each...

The museum's opening will reinforce the burgeoning
creationist movement and evangelical Christianity in
the US, which gained further strength with the
re-election of President Bush in November...

"Since President Bush's re-election we have been
getting more membership applications than we can
handle,'' said Mr Ham, who expects not just the
devout, but also the curious, to flock through the
turnstiles. "The evolutionary elite will be getting a
wake-up call..."

Dear Gentle Giant:

Do you remember that scientists believed the world was flat . . . prior to Columbus? Scripture, however, told us the world was round long before Jesus ever walked the face of the earth. (Please note verse 22 especially.) Only Columbus was brave enough to search east for India which was geographically west of Spain. (And he never fell off the face of the earth.) He based that and backed it up with his discovery of the New World based on these verses from the Old Testament Hebrew bible:

Isaiah 40:21-23

21 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;
who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;
23 who brings princes to nought,
and makes the rulers of the earth as nothing.
RSV

Columbus was the visionary who put shoes on his beliefs and followed through. Was Columbus a scientist? History today records Columbus's discovery of the NEW WORLD in 1492. Columbus's reward for believing in God? His character is assassinated over and over by the media and certain historians.

How did we know this info on creation from the past? Is it because Adam himself told his descendents about God and the Garden of Eden? Adam had a very close relationship with God and met with God regularly in the cool of the day every day prior to sin entering the world and Adam and Eve being removed from the Garden of Eden. Scripture records that Adam lived 930 years and he died which is the price all of us will pay for sin. (See Genesis 5:5.) Adam had plenty of time to discuss life before the fall when sin entered the picture with generations upon generations of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, etc., prior to his death.

By the way I'm married to a respected scientist in his field. My SBB certified husband is a scientist who believes in Creation and told me a long time ago that science does NOT back up evolution. He's right. God's shown him many insights in his study of the body. A publisher is very interested in his studies and LOVED the first three chapters. They want FIRST DIBBS at his book. When he's finished, his will be a very interesting science book to read.

My prayer is that gentle giant will read the Bible and possibly my husband's book with an open mind; however, his own response of "Simply unbelievable" may just verify that his mind is closed. An open mind is a terrible thing to waste. Wasted, the open mind becomes a CLOSED mind.

Deuteronomy 29:29

29 "The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
NKJV

May the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob richly bless you!

Sincerely,
Jo

Didn't the bible also state clearly that the sun was set to light the day, and the moon to light the night?
Sometimes the moon is out during the day and not at night.
Is the moon on vacation?
Science is a search for the truth of the the way things are and how they got here. Much is not yet known and there are holes in many theories. Scientists may yet find truth in biblical scripture, the difference is, it will have to be proven and not taken on faith.
Lord knows there are many holes in the bible as well. Take that guy Jacob supposedly outwrestled the almighty himself. For a man to defeat the creator in his own book is perhaps symbolic and they may have been giving you bible thumpers a clue that the whole thing might be a fairy tale, eh?

Here in Europe we belive in Science, not in nonsens. If we create a Museum with a T-rex holding an Ericsson mobilephone, then it IS tru that T-rex created the mobilephone!! Yes for sure. Earth IS flat, and the centre of the Universe. Einstein or the Bible was right, guess who!

Who will survive?
Mankind or Religion?
Both can't !!

I prefer....guess what!

I am sorry for so many Bible scoffers, however, I am grateful that there are so many believers. Mankind will not survive, not in the sinful human nature it is now, but those who accept Christ as their Savior and live according to His truth will be transformed into celestial beings at His second coming, which is to gather the believers and take them to Heaven to live with Him forever in a world without sin. So Religion WILL survive....God's true religion. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will touch each one's heart to open them to understanding and accepting God's plan so that they may be among those who will be in Heaven. I think it's exciting that someone has the desire and the opportunity to compile such supporting documentation of the truth, even in the shadow of scoffers. The world has not changed from the beginning of time, and will not change until the end of the world. But, praise God, His truth will prevail and all the scoffers in the world will not destroy it.

I am an atheist/panthesist and have absolutely no problem with those who believe what they want to comfort their own fear of reality.

I just hope Mr ham decides to stay in America with all his hokey nonscience, Australia is certainly better off without him and his looney tribe.

As a child i would listen to my much travelled uncle tell me about america . How people were loud , ignorant , poorly educated and filled with religious gobbledegook. It seems not much has changed . Now a creation nonscience museum no less. maybe it's something in the water.

Prior to Columbus it had alredy been well establish by Aristotle using math and science that the earth was in fact sphere shaped. Again the christians show there willingness to quickly embrace dogmatic belief without fact checking.

I really can't wait to visit the museum in nov. of this year 2007. I've been needing a good laugh for quite a while.
