Tell Bowman ground you'll be VFR to Standiford. They give you a squawk
code and vector. "maintain VFR at or below2500, initial course 340,
tower frequency 124.2, squawk 1234." then they have you switch to SDF
tower.

You don't have to follow the runway all the way to the end. Fly to
1200 ft, then turn crosswind.

So many lights, but the runway lights don't show up from the side.
Watch heading indicator. I had to really look to spot the beacon and
the Watterson expressway in order to figure where to turn base for 17R.
